Abstract: As important methods of transportation research and engineering, traffic simulation and computational experiments have attracted much more attention. From the perspective of social networks, this paper analyzes the literature on traffic simulation and computational experiments included in the ISI Web of Science (WoS) during the years 2000~2012. Our analysis can be divided into three parts: firstly, annual statistics of the publication trend is shown; secondly, we investigate the key researchers from productivity, influence, collaboration pattern and knowledge transmission by employing social network, and give its cluster diagram; finally, key institutions are listed from the four aspects above. Results indicate that the publications and institutions in this field grow rapidly; the collaborations of researchers are much extensive and extremely complex; there is no obvious correlation between collaboration and knowledge transmission; the cooperation among institutions are dispersed and the number of cooperated agencies is small.
