Abstract: A new method of optimum multi-performance-index design is presented in this paper, which can not only guarantee the designer's assurance of the predicted optimum pole assignment but also satisfy different optimum performance-index of each subsystem in a multi-variable system and realize the optimtma control of the whole system. This method has been verified through digital simulation of a subsystem of a water distribution system. It has been shown in the experiment that this method possesses considerable flexibility, simplicity and accuracy. Therefore it can meet the demands of engineering design.
